Amboseli

Big tuskers beneath Mount Kilimanjaro

Why clients love Amboseli

Amboseli is famous for the postcard shot: giant elephants walking across the plains with snow-capped Kilimanjaro behind them. Swamps and springs draw hippos and hundreds of bird species, and the park borders Maasai communities you can meet on a cultural visit.

Things to do here

  • Large elephant herds with Kilimanjaro as the backdrop
  • Observation Hill for sweeping views of the swamps
  • Over 400 bird species, including pelicans and flamingos
  • Cultural visit to a Maasai village

Common questions

Will we see Kilimanjaro?

Often yes — the mountain is clearest at sunrise and sunset and in the dry months. Clouds can hide the summit by midday, so we plan an early morning drive.

Can I get to Amboseli from Nairobi?

Yes. We run Amboseli safaris from Nairobi too, either by road or with a short flight to the park's airstrip.
