Refund and Returns Policy

Understanding our safari refund policy is the first step toward booking a secure, worry-free adventure with Steve & Richard Safaris.

Overview

Our comprehensive policy applies to all tour itineraries, game drive bookings, and accommodation packages reserved through our platform. Because planning a wilderness excursion involves complex upfront logistics, a clear cancellation framework protects both the traveler and local conservation projects. If you need to cancel a planned excursion, processing timelines and fee rules will be determined directly by this official safari refund policy.

To be eligible for a refund under our standard terms, cancellation requests must be submitted in writing via email. It is also essential that cancellations are requested before specific deadline thresholds to claim any tier of financial reimbursement.

Several types of travel fees are completely exempt from being returned. For instance, non-refundable wildlife authority fees, national park entry passes, or seasonal primate tracking permits cannot be recovered. Our safari refund policy must adhere to these strict community wildlife reserve rules. We also do not accept requests for refunds on premium customized add-ons, luxury private bush dinners, or chartered local aviation transfers.

Additional non-refundable items under our policy framework:

  • Promotional trip gift cards
  • Downloadable digital safari itinerary planners
  • Specialized emergency medical evacuation insurance coverage

To complete your request under our safari refund policy, we require a valid booking reference number or digital receipt as proof of purchase.

Please do not attempt to contact partner wilderness lodges directly to secure your financial reimbursement; all cancellations must be processed natively through our agency systems.

There are certain situations where only partial reimbursements are granted:

  • Custom multi-day tour bookings with obvious customized vehicle modifications already completed.
  • Lodging reservation segments that have been opened, modified, or re-booked for a different season.
  • Any expedition component not in its original state, or missing scheduled segments for reasons not due to our operational error.
  • Any cancellation notification that is submitted after standard operational windows detailed in your booking summary.

Understanding the Safari Refund Policy for Cancellations

Once your formal written cancellation is received and evaluated by our operations team, we will send you an email to notify you that we have logged your request. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your claim based on the strict timelines outlined in our safari refund policy.

If your claim is approved, then your financial return will be quickly processed. A credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of electronic payment within a set number of business days, according to our standard policy parameters.

To ensure total transparency, our safari refund policy aligns directly with the established travel standards outlined by the Kenya Association of Tour Operators (KATO) regarding balanced booking terms.

Late or missing refunds

If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account or payment ledger once again.

Next, contact your credit card company or banking institution. It may take several business days before a holiday credit is officially posted to your account statement.

There is often an extended transaction processing period required by regional banks before an international wire transfer or card credit is visible.

If you have completed all of these checks and you still have not received your funds, please contact our accounting department at info@steveandrichardsafaris.com so we can review your file under the guidelines of our safari refund policy.

Promotional and Sale packages

Only regular-priced tour packages may be refunded. Discounted holiday packages, last-minute deals, or promotional group rates are final and cannot be refunded under our active safari refund policy.

Booking Changes and Tour Exchanges

We only modify or exchange scheduled travel dates if an emergency occurs or an itinerary segment becomes operationally blocked. If you need to shift dates for the same adventure, email our team at info@steveandrichardsafaris.com to check availability under the terms of our safari refund policy.

Gift Bookings and Vouchers

If the expedition package was explicitly marked as a gift when purchased and booked directly under your name, you will receive a digital travel credit for the exact value defined by our safari refund policy. Once the cancellation is logged, a digital gift certificate will be sent to your inbox.

If the tour wasn’t marked as a gift, or the gift giver had the reservation sent to their own address to present to you later, our safari refund policy dictates that the monetary refund must go back to the original gift giver.

Protecting Your Travel Investment

To submit a cancellation, please send your signed request forms directly to our booking office address. Because unexpected medical developments can occur, our corporate safari refund policy strongly recommends purchasing third-party protection. You can review specialized options via Travel Guard Insurance to cover risks that fall outside our company’s policy bounds.

Depending on your country of origin, the total time it takes for an updated booking voucher to reach your destination may vary. To explore available alternatives before canceling, feel free to browse our main Safari Tour Packages page or connect with us directly through our official Contact Page.
